ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Junior Ines Stephani was named MVC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week for her efforts in a pair of road matches for the Bulldogs, the league officed announced. Stephani's honor marks the first time this season that a Drake player has earned the weekly award.
Stephani had a solid weekend for the Bulldogs in a pair of non-MVC matches. The New Zealander went 2-0 in no. 1 singles matches while also teaming up with Oriana Parkins-Godwin to earn a doubles victory.
Stephani started the weekend with 6-3, 6-3 win over DePaul's Yuliya Kizelbasheva in straight sets (3/3).
