South Dakota State Uses First-Half Cushion To Defeat Men’s Basketball, 83-75

DES MOINES, Iowa – South Dakota State needed 14-point halftime cushion to hold off Drake in men's basketball, 83-75, Monday evening in the Knapp Center.

Drake (1-10) rallied to close that margin to one possession three times in the final six minutes but could not overcome the early deficit despite shooting 52.9 percent in the second half. Drake matched a season-high with 10 three pointers on a season-high 36 attempts in the loss.

Billy Wampler (Eau Claire, Wis.) led the Bulldogs again with 18 points, his sixth-straight game in double-figures, on 7-of-12 shooting and a 4-of-8 night from the three-point arc.
