MINNEAPOLIS – The No. 25 Drake University softball team lost to No. 14 Georgia, 7-4, Monday, May 20 morning in an elimination game in the Minneapolis Regional in the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
Drake (43-16) and Georgia (42-18) endured a nearly 36-hour weather delay after play was suspended Saturday night due to inclement weather and Sunday was too cold and the field conditions unsafe so the suspended game was pushed until Monday morning.
Play resumed Monday with Georgia at bat in the top of the fifth inning with runners on first and second with one out and up 4-2.
