Johnson rallies Bulldogs in win over South Dakota State.
CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – The Drake University softball team topped South Dakota State, 11-4, in their season opener at the Northern Iowa Dome Tournament on Friday Feb. 11.
Junior Emily Valtman hit a single in the top of the third with one out. Alexia Lara singled to center field to get to first, while Valtman made it to third.
Sophomore Mikayla Rice went up to bat, hitting it to left field to bring Valtman home and put Drake up 1-0.
