TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Drake University softball team swept Indiana State in a Missouri Valley Conference doubleheader on Friday afternoon. Drake (15-11, 5-0 MVC) cruised to a 15-6 win in the first game and blanked Indiana State, 12-0, (7-22, 1-4 MVC) in the second game. Both games went just five innings as the Bulldogs have won their fist five MVC games.
In the first game Friday, Indiana State took a brief 2-0 lead in the first inning before Drake's bats broke out for a season high in runs scored. The Bulldogs answered with six runs in the second inning with one run coming off a Sycamores' errors, three from a double by Megan Sowa (Gurnee, Ill.
