PEORIA, Ill. – The Drake University softball team swept another Missouri Valley Conference doubleheader Saturday with two road wins over Bradley.
Drake (16-13, 4-1 MVC) won the first game by a score of 6-1 and then held off Bradley (14-13, 2-3 MVC) for a 7-6 victory in the second contest.
The first game was a pitcher's duel until the final inning when the Bulldogs broke open a 1-1 game with five runs in their final at-bat.
Nicole Newman (Madison, Wis.), who drove in Drake's first run with a fourth-inning RBI single, had a perfect game going into the fifth.
