DES MOINES, Iowa – A walkoff homerun by Sarah Maddox (Henderson, Nev.) in the eighth inning of the second game Saturday secured Drake University softball's final series win of the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference season. Drake defeated Missouri State, 6-2, in game one before completing a come from behind 4-3 win in game two at Buel Field.
Drake (40-10, 23-1 MVC) bounced back from its first MVC loss last Sunday, a 3-0 defeat at Loyola, with its pair of wins over Missouri State (32-18, 17-7 MVC). The Bulldogs' two victories clinched another MVC series win of the conference season for Drake, which claimed series wins over every single Valley team.
