The Drake University softball team fell in the series finale to Indiana State, 6-4, in extra innings following a late rally by the Sycamores. Indiana State claimed all three games of the weekend matchup.
Drake opened the scoring in the first inning when Emily Valtman laced a double into left field to plate Haylee Lehman and Libby Ryan. Valtman led the Bulldogs with two hits in five at-bats.
Later in the frame, Makayla Rice doubled to bring home Addie Lightner as Drake opened up a 3-0 advantage.
Indiana State responded in the second inning with a two-run double off the center field wall to scratch within one.
