OMAHA, Neb. -- The Drake University rowing team impressed against host Creighton, Saint Mary's and Santa Clara at the Creighton Invite on Saturday (April 2).
"It was an amazing day for us," head coach Charlie DiSilvestro said. "It was the day we have been waiting for. We have been working so hard since January and it felt like everything came together today. I'm proud of the whole team."
The Bulldogs began with a strong second place finish in the opening flight of the first varsity 8 race with a time of 7:00.1. The boat (Sarah Sutton, Taylor Fausey, Kiernan Blanchard, Lindsay York, Hailey Hovland, Maddie Smith, Noam Wasik, Amanda Pereira and Maggie Poltrock) was only 6.
