DES MOINES, Iowa – The Creighton Bluejays edged the Drake University rowing team Saturday morning in the program's annual fall duel on the Des Moines River.
Creighton defeated Drake in the varsity 4+ and 2nd varsity 8+ races to retain the traveling trophy awarded to the winner in the rivalry. The Bulldogs rallied to win the varsity 8+ race over the Bluejays.
"The team rowed really hard today," said Drake head coach Charlie DiSilvestro. "Stiff competition today, which we knew it would be, but the team performed really well. They felt they that the boats had the best rows that they potentially could have.
