CARTER LAKE, Iowa – The Drake University rowing team defeated Creighton in three races Saturday morning on Carter Lake in the annual spring dual race between the longtime rivals.
Drake beat Creighton in the varsity 8+, 2nd varsity 8+ and the varsity 4+ races. The Bulldogs' 2nd varsity 4+ boat finished third in their race. The two longtime foes raced each other for the first time this school year after their annual fall meeting in Des Moines was cancelled due to high water on the Des Moines River.
"I'm so proud of the how well everyone performed today," said head coach Charlie DiSilvestro.
