ST. LOUIS – Freshman Brenni Rose (Shawnee, Kan.) of the Drake University women's basketball team has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Basketball Newcomer of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Rose played the best game of her young Drake career in the road win at UNI on Jan. 27. She recorded her first career-double with a career-high 17 points and 10 rebounds in a career-best 28 minutes. Time and time again, Rose hauled in key offensive rebounds finishing with six, converted several critical three-point plays and tallied one block, one steal and one assist.
