DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's soccer defeated Valparaiso, 4-2, in Missouri Valley Conference action on Saturday night at the Cownie Soccer Complex.
(Peotone, Ill.) recorded her second career hat trick and senior Hannah Wilder (Wheatfield, Ind.) scored her first goal of the season in the Bulldogs' MVC opener. Valparaiso (7-6-0, 1-1 MVC) scored both goals in the second half, but Drake quickly answered each goal with one of its own.
"That was a really solid performance from our team," said head coach Lindsey Horner. "We had the majority of possession and were defensively quite sound with Ali (Smith), Elaine (Gorom), and Brooke (Salisbury) being nearly flawless down the middle.
