ST. LOUIS, Mo. – For the 12th time in the last 16 weeks, a member of the Drake University women's basketball team has been named a Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week, presented by Eagle Bank & Trust Company. Redshirt sophomore Sara Rhine (Eldon, Mo.) is the latest Bulldog to earn the honor, her league-leading sixth of the season.
Last week, Rhine was nearly perfect for Drake with 22 points on 10-of-11 shooting against Texas A&M in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. She added 10 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season.
