SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The No. 23/23 Drake University women's basketball team gutted out a hard-fought 70-61 win at Missouri State Sunday afternoon at JQH Arena.
The road victory moved Drake (23-5, 15-1 MVC) into sole possession of first place in the Missouri Valley Conference standings heading into the final week of the regular season.
Drake was paced by Sara Rhine (Eldon, Mo.), who scored a game-high 19 points. Sammie Bachrodt (Wichita, Kan.) had 17 points with 15 coming after halftime, including the Bulldogs' first 11 points of the third quarter.
