The Drake University volleyball team went toe-to-toe with the No. 12 team in the nation before the University of Washington prevailed for a 3-0 win Friday evening at the Bluejay Invitational in Omaha, Neb.
The Huskies did not have an answer for Drake (5-3) freshman Haley Bush (Waukee, Iowa), who notched 17 kills on 37 attempts to lead all offensive players.
However, Washington limited Drake to just .129 hitting as a team to win the match, 25-14, 30-28, 25-19 to improve to 4-1 this season.
The Bulldogs' high point came in the second set when Washington needed an extended set to defeat the Bulldogs, 30-28.
