DES MOINES, Iowa -- Drake women's soccer fended off a late push by Omaha to earn a 1-0 win for its veteran players on Senior Day Sunday (Sept. 10).
"It's always a great outing to get a shutout win on Senior Day," head coach said. "We didn't have a great start to the game but kept getting better as the game progressed. We decent job of forcing Omaha to chase the game."
Both teams adjusted to the style of play, with Drake (4-1-2) getting more looks at the goal than Omaha (2-3-2) early on. In the 38th minute, crossed the ball to the left side of the box, where tapped it to , who did the rest with her left foot her third goal of the season.
