DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Drake University men's soccer team tied Iowa Western, 0-0, in an exhibition match on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at Cownie Soccer Complex.
"It was great to be playing on campus and to have a great crowd cheering us on," head coach Gareth Smith said. "This was another very strong and pleasing performance from our guys during these early stages of the preseason. We showed that we are very well organized defensively and limited the opposition to very few actions in our defensive third."
The Bulldogs were picked to finish third in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason coaches' poll.
