The Drake men's soccer defeated Bradley, 2-1, in its Missouri Valley Conference opener Saturday evening at Cownie Soccer Complex.
In the 44th minute, the Bulldogs were awarded a free kick. Senior Oliver Bihuniak took the kick and placed it in the box at the head of graduate Declan Watters. Watters then hit it to senior Istvan Wilhelms who scored to out Drake on the board, 1-0.
The Bulldogs registered nine shots in the first half, three of which were taken by senior Bradan Allen.
Drake outshot Bradley 15-11 but tied on corner kicks with four each.
