The Drake University men's golf team is tied for second after the first day of the Zach Johnson Invitational Monday in West Des Moines, Iowa. The Bulldogs ended the second round tied with Valparaiso and Creighton on the par-71 layout at Glen Oaks Country Club.
The three teams in the chase pack trail Loyola by just three strokes heading into Tuesday's final round, scheduled to tee off at 8:30 a.m.
The Bulldogs overcame an eight-stroke gap in the second round to draw even with the Crusaders while the Ramblers put together another strong round to climb into first place.
