The Drake University men's golf team has signed Cale Leonard (Ottumwa, Iowa) and Nate Spear (Burlington, Iowa) to National Letters of Intent for the 2022-23 season, Drake head men's golf coach Matt Lewis announced November 10.
"Cale had a tremendous summer and capped it off by winning the individual high school state title. He has a ton of tournament experience and will make an immediate impact on the team," said Lewis. "Cale is a hard worker who will continue to push himself. I am very excited to have him on the team!"
Leonard finished in second placed in the 2021 Iowa Junior Open in August, 2021 and utilized that momentum to springboard his senior golf season.
