LEMONT, Ill. – The Drake University men's golf team finished the first day of the John Dallio Memorial Tournament on Monday in fourth-place.
"We got off to a great start, shooting five-under on our first nine holes. Holes 10 and 11 killed us with shots hit into the hazards," said Drake head coach Matt Lewis. "The second round was more challenging as the wind picked up. I thought we were hanging in there until our final few holes. We gave back too many strokes on our final holes. I'm sure fatigue and the end of a long mental grind was a factor, but we had to many too many unforced errors and mental lapses.
