DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Drake men's basketball team learned it will play the Miami Hurricanes on Friday, March 17 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Albany, New York at MVP Arena.
Miami, which owns a 25-7 record, was co-champions of the Atlantic Coast Conference with Virginia with a 15-5 league record. Miami is ranked No. 13 nationally in the latest coaches poll, while being ranked No. 14 in the Associated Press poll. The Hurricanes advanced to the Elite Eight during the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
The winner of that game will play the winner of the Indiana-Kent State contest in Sunday's second round of the NCAA Tournament.
