EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Drake University men's basketball team put in another gritty, hard-fought effort but suffered an 82-77 double-overtime setback at Evansville Wednesday evening to open the Missouri Valley Conference season.
The Bulldogs (11-3, 0-1 MVC) came into the contest averaging 81.5 points a game but were held to 58 points in regulation on 36 percent shooting against Evansville's defense.
Nick McGlynn (Stoughton, Wis.) put in another workmanlike performance for the Bulldogs with 16 points and 10 rebounds while Tremell Murphy (Griffith, Ind.) and Brady Ellingson (Menomonee Falls, Wis.
