DES MOINES, Iowa- In its final home game of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic, the Drake men's basketball team made a season-high 13 three-pointers to cruise to a 76-58 victory over visiting Rider Wednesday, Dec. 19.
Drake was led by freshman D.J. Wilkins (Merrillville, Ind.) who had a career night with 17 points behind 5-of-7 shooting from the three-point arc. Nick McGlynn (Stoughton, Wis.) gathered his 10th career double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Nick Norton (Bloomington, Ill.) chipped in 13 points and seven assists.
"D.J. gave us a big burst in the second half and got us a cushion where we could play with a lead," said Drake head coach Darian DeVries.
