Drake University senior Nick McGlynn has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Year, the league announced Tuesday, March 5.
Earlier today, McGlynn was named first-team All-MVC and a member of the league's All-Defensive team after helping lead the Bulldogs to their first regular-season league title since 2008.
McGlynn is the first Bulldog to earn Defensive Player of the Year honors since the award's creation in 1989.
In addition to leading Drake in scoring (15.6 ppg) and rebounds (8.5 rpg), he was tops in the Valley in defensive rebounds by 6.
