FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Kansas edged the Drake University softball team, 3-2, Saturday on the final day of the Woo Pig Classic.
Drake (3-10) had the tying run at third base with one out in the top of the seventh after triple down the right field line. But consecutive pop ups by and ended the game.
Kansas (7-5) led 3-0 after two innings, scoring its first run in the first and the other two on a two-run home run off .
The Bulldogs broke through in the sixth inning against the Jayhawks. Lehman led off with a double and Lightner and each drew walks loading the bases.
