Senior outfielder Macy Johnson of the Drake University softball team has been selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Midwest All-Region First Team, the NFCA announced Thursday, May 20. This is the second NFCA Midwest All-Region honor for Johnson who was selected to the NFCA Midwest All-Region Third Team in 2019.
Johnson, who last week was named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team for the first time, had an outstanding 2021 season. She batted a career-high .444, which is a new single-season program record behind a career-best 68 hits, including four triples and she tallied 29 stolen bases.
