SAINT LOUIS, Mo. - Fresh off of a school-record performance in the 10,000-meters, Drake's Emma Huston (Des Moines, Iowa) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Track Athlete of the Week.
Huston broke the school record in the 10,000 meters at the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays with a finish of 33:55.89 to shatter the previous 33-year-old mark by more than half a minute. She was the fastest collegiate finisher in her Elite/Invitational section of the event behind three professional competitors.
Her time is the fastest posted by an MVC runner this season and the fastest since the 2014 season.
