ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Brooke Mullins of Drake track & field was named Missouri Valley Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday, May 3.
Mullins broke her own Drake women's 3000m steeplechase record with a time of 10:13.94 to claim a Drake Relays champion's flag on Thursday, April 27. Mullins out-ran a field of 33 including competition from Nebraska, Tulane, Creighton, Wichita State, Iowa and Marquette.
The junior became the first Drake women's athlete to win an event at the Drake Relays since Gina DeWitt in 1995.
