DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Drake University football team welcomes NAIA member Southwestern College (Kan.) Saturday evening at Drake Stadium.
Saturday's contest is the first meeting between Drake and Southwestern.
The Bulldogs opened the season with a tough 77-7 loss to South Dakota last week, while the Moundbuilders came out on the short end of an offensive shootout, falling to Hastings College, 52-35.
Fourth-year head coach Rick Fox and his Bulldogs were picked to finish fourth in the Pioneer Football League Coaches Preseason Poll, as they return nine all-PFL performers and 18 student-athletes that started at least one contest in 2016.
