DES MOINES, Iowa - The Drake University football team kicks off Pioneer Football League play Saturday, Sept. 29 at noon, CDT, when it heads to Florida to take on Jacksonville University.
Drake leads the all-time series, 14-3, but Jacksonville is a very different team at home where it will be hosting the Bulldogs in humid 90-degree temperatures. Drake has won its last three games against the Dolphins and their option attack to improve to 6-3 at D.B. Milne Field.
The Bulldogs hope to be rested after an early-season bye week, and the defense will be ready to go after a Jacksonville offense that presents numerous challenges on the ground.
