DES MOINES, Iowa - The Drake University men's basketball team held off a late charge by Texas State in a 75-69 win Saturday afternoon at the Knapp Center.
All five starters for Drake (2-1) finished in double figures led by senior Nick McGlynn (Stoughton, Wis.) who recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Nick Norton (Bloomington, Ill.) scored 15 points and Brady Ellingson (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) added 13 points. Tremell Murphy (Griffith, Ind.) and D.J. Wilkins (Merrillville, Ind.) each had 10 points.
Drake led by as many as 19 points in the second half before Texas State (2-1) went on a 12-0 run and eventually cut the lead to as few as two points.
