ST. LOUIS, Mo. – For the fourth time this season, Drake senior Reed Fischer (Minnetonka, Minn.) has been named the Eagle Bank Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the league announced Nov. 22.
Fischer, a member of the Drake cross country team, recently finished 50th at the NCAA Cross Country Championship on Nov. 19. The reigning MVC Champion, Fischer completed the course with a time of 30:33.4 in blustery conditions with 20 mph winds. After getting stuck toward the back of the pack at the start, Fischer methodically moved through the field to nearly earn All-America honors.
