AMES, Iowa – Drake University track and field senior Reed Fischer (Minnetonka, Minn.) broke his second school record in as many weeks Friday evening at the Iowa State Classic.
Fischer's time of 13:55.27 in the indoor 5,000 meters bested the previous record held by Bulldog great Brogan Austin by more than four seconds. Last week at the Meyo Invitational, Fischer set the school record in the indoor 3,000 meters.
"It's great to see Reed racing so well when his focus is on his training during the indoor season," said Drake co-interim head coach Dan Hostager.
