DES MOINES, Iowa – The Evansville Purple Aces edged the Drake men's soccer team, 1-0, in Missouri Valley Conference play on Saturday afternoon at the Cownie Soccer Complex.
Ian McGrath scored his league-leading ninth goal in the 64 minute for Evansville (7-7-1, 1-3-1 MVC) as Drake (4-10-1, 1-4-1 MVC) had several chances for the equalizer, but couldn't find the net on an afternoon that featured wind gusts up to 30 mph.
On the goal, Eric McDougal sent a deep cross into the box that McGrath jumped for and headed by Bulldogs goalkeeper Caden McCullough (Evansville, Ind.
