During the course of the 2019-20 academic year, three Drake student-athletes earned conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors while a total of 43 student-athletes earned academic all-conference honors.
Drake's three league Scholar-Athletes of the Year included Jacob Bacon (Football), Sara Rhine (Women's Basketball) and Mandi Roemmich (Softball).
The first of those honors came in December when Bacon was named the Pioneer Football League's Scholar-Athlete of the Year to become the second Bulldog to earn the honor in its six-year history. He was one of six Bulldogs to earn a spot on the PFL Scholar-Athlete Team as well.
