DES MOINES, Iowa – It took overtime to get it done, but the Drake men's basketball team extended its home winning streak to 18 games with an exhaustive 92-88 victory over Southern Illinois at the Knapp Center on Wednesday night.
"It was a heck of an effort by the team and I'm really proud of them," head coach Darian DeVries said. "I thought that was a hard-fought physical game that took a lot out of both teams. We have had a couple of overtimes where we came up short and I thought tonight in this overtime we made the type of plays you need to make to win in a close game.
