DES MOINES, Iowa - Two members of the Drake University men's cross country team were recognized as part of the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team following a runner-up finish at the MVC Championship last week.
Drake senior Kyle Brandt and junior Maximilian Fridrich were named to the Scholar-Athlete after the race in Valparaiso, Ind., Nov. 2. The honor is given to any student-athletes from competing teams who finished in the top 20 at the conference meet and maintain a grade point average of 3.3 or above. Eligible student-athletes must be a sophomore or higher in both academic and athletic standing.
