CHICAGO - Freshman quarterback Ian Corwin (Tulsa, Okla.) of the Drake University football team is the STATS FCS National Freshman Player of the Week. Corwin earned the national award after he helped lead Drake to a 41-17 road win at Marist on Saturday in Drake's Pioneer Football League opener.
Against the Red Foxes, Corwin completed 20-of-29 passes (69.0 percent) for 255 yards and four touchdowns with one interception. The four touchdown passes went to four different Bulldog receivers. Corwin has thrown seven touchdown passes through four games.
