Drake University sophomore quarterback Ian Corwin has been named the Pioneer Football League's Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Sunday evening.
Corwin, who hails from Tulsa, Okla., led the Bulldogs to a 33-7 win at Butler Saturday behind an impressive second-quarter performance.
Despite only playing in the second quarter, he threw three touchdown passes and completed 7-of-8 passes for 75 yards to give the Bulldogs a 23-0 halftime lead. He also carried the ball six times for 67 yards.
Corwin was involved in 14 of the 17 plays he was on the field for either passing or rushing, with eight of those yielding a first down.
