DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake University senior Lexie Chapman continued her assault on the Drake track and field record books as she won the shot put and discus on the final day of the Jim Duncan Invitational Saturday at Drake Stadium.
Both of her winning throws were the second best in program history in each event as she threw 47-4.5 (14.44m) in the shot put and 155-7 (47.43m) in the discus.
Chapman's titles were part of nine first-place finishes Saturday by the Bulldogs in cold and windy conditions on the Blue Oval in the team's outdoor season opener.
