DES MOINES, Iowa – Sophomore Tawny Carroll (Streamwood, Ill.) scored in the 41st minute to lift the Drake University women's soccer team past Kansas State, 1-0, Sunday, Oct. 2 at the Cownie Soccer Complex.
Drake (9-3-1) snapped a two-game losing streak with the win over Kansas State (4-6-3) who had its two-match winning streak stopped with the non-conference loss.
Sophomore Linda Fiorito (Overland Park, Kan.) sent a perfect cross across the box from right to left that Carroll headed in the near post past Kansas State goalkeeper Miranda Larkin.
