DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake's Haley Bush earned MVC Player of the Week honors after she made Bulldog history over the weekend. The fifth-year player went off for 21 kills in a dramatic five-set victory over Evansville (11/3) to surpass former Drake star Angela Bys to reset the program's career kills record.
Overall, Bush totaled 34 kills, with another 13 in the weekend finale vs. Indiana State (11/4), an average of 3.37 kills per set, plus 16 digs, four assists, three blocks, and 39 total points. Bush has also eclipsed the 1,000-dig mark to become just the fifth player in Drake history to record 1,000+ kills and assists.
