LAWRENCE, Kan. — The Drake University track and field team competed in the Kansas Relays from April 18-20 amongst other top teams from all over the nation. The women's and men's programs both had a strong showing and did well overall against some tough competition.
The Drake field athlete had an especially strong weekend. Anthony Barmes (69.10) placed second in hammer throw with Centaine Noom-Duckworth (57.70) first in hammer throw. Freshman Lara Smits (12.84m) placed ninth in shot put and sixth place (47.25) in discus throw.
