SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drake University softball team visited Missouri State this weekend to start Missouri Valley Conference play. The Bulldogs (6-15, 0-2) fell behind the Lady Bears (11-15, 2-2) early and often in back-to-back defeats.

The Lady Bears locked down Drake in the first game of the weekend, an 11-0 shutout. It marked the third time this season the Bulldogs have been held scoreless.
Drake logged just one hit in the first game of the weekend, a Kristen Arias single back up the middle in the top of the third inning.
