DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake women's basketball team caught Creighton on an afternoon the 20th-ranked Bluejays rarely missed and lost 89-78 in the Bulldogs' final nonconference game at the Knapp Center on Sunday.
The Bulldogs (6-4) were not bad themselves, shooting 62 percent in the second half and 53 percent for the game, but they couldn't make much dent in the 12-point lead Creighton built at halftime because the Bluejays (8-2) kept answering at the other end.
Creighton shot 60.6 percent in the second half, including 8-for-12 from three-point range, and 54.5 percent for the game.
