ST. LOUIS – Freshman Olivia Bruce (Lakeville, Minn.) of the Drake University women's soccer team has been tabbed the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Soccer Newcomer of the Week, the MVC office announced Monday afternoon.
Bruce, a forward, scored the game winner in Drake's 1-0 win over Loyola in the regular season finale on Oct. 26. She scored with just over three minutes left in the first half as sophomore Cassie Rohan (Palatine, Ill.) sent a perfect cross from the edge of the 18-yard box that Bruce headed in for her second career goal.
