ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Drake women's soccer team had a pair of players garner Missouri Valley Conference weekly awards, the league announced on Tuesday morning. Eve Blakey was named Player of the Week and Alanna Pennington was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Blakey was the offensive for force the Bulldogs in their 5-1 conference opening win over Valparaiso. The Newcastle, England native scored a pair of goals against the Beacons marking her third contest this season with multiple goals in a match. Blakey ripped off seven shots against Valpo and had six attempts come on target.
