ST. LOUIS -- Distance runner Isaac Basten of Drake track & field has been recognized as the Missouri Valley Conference Track Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league announced on Thursday, Feb. 15 after breaking his own school and conference record in the men's mile.
Almost exactly a year after setting the previous program and conference record in the men's mile at the 2023 David Hemery Valentine Invitational, Isaac Basten returned to Boston on Saturday, Feb. 10 and bested his own record. His mile time of 3:53.
